Job summary

RGCB invites applications from suitable candidates for the position of Instrumentation and Software Integration Engineer to work in the AI-Integrated multiplexed Platform project at the RGCB lab in Thiruvananthapuram. The role involves contributing to instrumentation, software integration, and project deliverables under the supervision of Dr. Debanjan Bhowmik.

India Citizens, age below 40 as of Nov 1, 2026; one-year initial appointment with extension possible based on performance.

Qualifications

• Essential Qualifications include a B.Tech and/or a master's degree in Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Physics/ Optics/ Biotechnology.
• Demonstrable experience/internship in an industry is preferred.
• NET/GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering preferred but not essential.

Job description

Applications are invited from suitable candidates (Indian Citizens) for one position of Instrumentation and Software Integration Engineer under a BIRAC- DBT project(File No. "BT/BMH0143/BMI/Bio-AI-09/25") entitled "AI-Integrated multiplexedPlatform for miRNA-Based genetic Diagnostic and Prognostic Application", to work in the laboratory of Dr. Debanjan Bhowmik, Scientist C, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (BRIC-RGCB),Akkulam Campus, Thiruvananthapuram.

Essential Qualifications

• Candidates with a B. Tech and/or a master’s degree in Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Physics/ Optics/ Biotechnology are eligible to apply.
• Demonstrable experience/internship in an industry is preferred.
• Qualification in National Eligibility Test - CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship(Assistant Professorship) or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)/ or NationalLevel Examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agenciesand Institutions is preferred but not essential

Age

Below 40 years as on 01 November, 2026. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms

Duration

Initially for a period of one year or till termination of the project whichever is earlier and extendable based on the performance evaluation.

Selection Process

• Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate toany future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As withall project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminuswith end of the project.
