GE Vernova Grid Solutions is seeking a Data Engineering professional to develop, test, and implement data engineering solutions. You will model data, ensure data quality, and create semantic metadata while collaborating with global teams to advance predictive analytics using big-data tools.

The role emphasizes requirements management, verification and validation, and deployment of DBMS tools within a multi-disciplinary, multicultural environment. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Qualifications

Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for the development, testing and implementation of Data Engineering solutions, including data modeling, data quality and semantic/metadata development. The Data Engineer will work with the team to develop state-of-the-art data and analysis oriented solutions and collaborate with GE Vernova to bring business analysis to a new level of predictive analysis using Big-Data tools and technologies.

Essential Responsibilities

Engineering Management

• Perform in-depth Requirements Analysis for administrative requirements to support project needs.
• Gather stakeholder administrative needs and translate them into clear, verifiable administrative requirements.
• Allocate administrative requirements across systems, subsystems, and relevant requirement owners.
• Develop and manage Verification & Validation Plans and Reports for administrative requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to coordinate Verification & Validation activities through all project phases.
• Ensure the quality and consistency of Systems Engineering deliverables.
• Manage and ensure effective communication of all relevant data within and across the requirement management database.
• Supervise and manage systems engineering tasks to achieve project objectives.
• Implement and uphold ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2015 Systems and software engineering — System life cycle processes.

Quality

• Advocate for the adoption of best practices in Systems Engineering to improve the delivery of the Engineering function.

Health and Safety

• Actively and routinely promote the identification of hazards and EHS risks in own area of operation and objects of design. Provide insight to leaders, customers, and colleagues with respect to own safety and systems and product integrity.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, IT or a related field.
• +5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, with hands-on involvement in Requirements Management, Verification, and Validation activities.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM®DOORS or RELATICS.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Able to work in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team environment.
• Willing to travel as required.
• High level of integrity and accountability with a results-driven mindset.
• Hands-on experience in managing DBMS tools.
• Deployment of DBMS, tools and related applications for business (program management).

• Have experience in establishing Systems Engineering processes such as Requirements Management, Verification, and Validation.
