Job summary

1stdecember in Mumbai seeks a freelancer to manage film accounts from advance to final cost report. You will handle payables, receivables, GST and TDS, and ensure timely settlements, with weekly bank reconciliations and cost reporting for each film.

Workplace is in Andheri West, starting immediately on a per-project basis. You will collaborate with the production team and the CA firm to keep accounts clean and auditable.

Qualifications

• Know Tally, GST and TDS well.
• Experience in handling multiple small payments quickly and accurately.
• Ability to reconcile to the rupee.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Every film runs on dozens of vendor bills and crew payments, and one person has been holding all of it
• We want a second pair of hands in accounts, so payments go out on time and every film closes clean

THE JOB IN ONE LINE

• You keep the money behind every film in order, from the first advance to the final cost report

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Payables

• Check and book every vendor bill and crew invoice against the purchase order and the budget
• Pay on the agreed terms, and keep vendors informed

Receivables

• Raise client and agency invoices on time, and follow up until they're paid

Tax

• GST on every invoice, TDS on every payment, and the returns on time, working with our CA firm

Film accounts

• Reconcile the shoot float and the line producer's settlement
• Prepare the cost report for each film, so the Producer can close it

Records

• Keep Tally and the bank reconciliation current every week

HOW WE WORK

• Move first. Start before you feel ready. A rough version today beats a perfect one next week
• Lead with the answer. Be clear, give the context, then say what you need
• Update before anyone asks. "Done", "doing it by [date]" or "stuck, here's my suggestion" are all fine. Silence never is
• Plan for the obstacle. If X goes wrong, then Y, decided in advance
• Show the number, not the story. Results over effort
• Raise the hard thing early. Flag the risk on the day you see it
