Job summary

Bottomline in Bengaluru seeks a Revenue Accounting Specialist to join the global technology provider’s accounting team. You will ensure accurate revenue recognition and timely reporting in line with Bottomline policies, contributing to close processes and audit readiness.

Ideal candidates have a strong accounting background, proficiency in ERP/CRM systems, and the ability to work both independently and with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
• Confident using business systems and processes (Excel, CRM, ERP)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and timely delivery of quality work

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply core revenue accounting principles per company policies
• Oversee related areas impacted by revenue, such as third-party costs
• Assist with fair value analysis and estimated customer life analysis
• Participate in monthly and quarterly closes: journal entries, reconciliations, audit schedules
• Assist with audit preparations and responses to auditors
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives
• Balance sheet reconciliations

We are looking for an Revenue Accounting Specialist to innovate, win and grow with us in Bengaluru!

Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Revenue Accounting team, within an exciting and dynamic global technology provider. The Specialist- Accounting is a key position in the accounting department tasked with ensuring transactions are accounted for correctly and in accordance with Bottomline’s policies. Executing systems and processes effectively to ensure timely and accurate revenue reporting.

Job Responsibilities

• Understanding and applying the core revenue accounting principles to determine the correct revenue treatment, in accordance with Bottomline’s policies.
• Oversight of certain other accounting areas that are directly impacted by revenue, such as third-party costs.
• Assist in application of technical accounting policies such as fair value analysis and estimated customer life analysis.
• Key participation in monthly and quarterly closes, including ownership of standard journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit schedules.
• Assist with audit preparation and questions from the auditors.
• Projects related to process improvement initiatives.
• Balance Sheet reconciliation.

Required

Education, skill & Knowledge requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, CMA, CPA, IFRS
• Confident in using business systems and process (Excel, CRM, ERP, etc)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills
• Strong attention to detail and able to consistently and timely produce quality, accurate work
• Ability to work independently, and also to work in a collaborative, team environment.

Preferred (not Essential)

• 5+ years’ of relevant experience in accounting department working preferably within the technology sector.
• Experience working with the following software or systems; Microsoft D365, Salesforce CRM system, and/or Revpro
• Involvement in critical projects or process improvement.
• Further education or professional qualification
• Familiarity or general understanding of revenue recognition and internal controls
