Job summary

Gopinath Jewellers in Silchar, Assam is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage financial records, ensure tax compliance, and oversee daily accounting operations for a jewellery retailer.

The ideal candidate has 3-4 years of accounting experience, strong knowledge of GST and TDS, and proficiency in Tally or QuickBooks. A detail-oriented professional who can work independently is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in jewellery/retail.
• Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in Tally, QuickBooks, or other accounting software.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, invoices, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and P&L reports.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, and other tax returns.
• Coordinate with auditors and assist in audit reports.
• Conduct inventory and stock valuation, reporting.
• Handle payroll processing, reimbursements, and deductions.
• Assist management in financial planning and decision-making.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data.
