Job summary

Equinix is seeking a Lease Accountant in Leasing Operations to manage the accounting and administration of our global lease portfolio. The role requires strong accounting skills, advanced Excel, and cross-functional collaboration, reporting to the Lease Accounting Senior Manager.

Responsibilities include ASC 842/IFRS lease transactions, month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting audits and SOX controls, while driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance functions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.

• Handle lease setup, modifications, and journal entries in Lucernex or equivalent.

Job Summary

The Lease Accountant, Leasing Operations, is responsible for the accounting and administration of the Company's global lease portfolio. This role requires strong accounting skills, attention to detail, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to effectively partner with cross-functional organizations. The position supports lease accounting compliance, financial reporting, month-end close activities, and process improvement initiatives and reports to the Lease Accounting Senior Manager.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the accounting and review of lease transactions in compliance with US GAAP (ASC 842), IFRS, company policies, and internal control requirements
• Manage lease accounting activities within Lucernex, including lease setup, modification reviews, and generation of accounting entries.
• Participate in month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparation and review of lease-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement flux analyses for lease-related accounts and investigate significant variances.
• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements, including lease disclosures and control certifications.
• Maintain and execute SOX controls related to lease accounting processes and ensure compliance with internal control standards.
• Partner with Real Estate, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of lease data and accounting treatment.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, analyses, and responses to audit inquiries.
• Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis
• Participate in special projects and system enhancement initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance functions
• Knowledge of US GAAP or local accounting standard
• Strong attention to details and the ability to multi-task and work with limited supervision and within tight deadlines in the fast-paced environment
• Experienced with Hyperion Essbase, Oracle Cloud, R12 or other ERP systems preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Self-starter and team player with a positive attitude
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
