Job summary

Shubham Forwarders in Hinjewadi Phase 2 is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage daily accounting, GST/TDS compliance, and financial reporting. You will handle GST, TDS, AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end closing with accuracy and timely compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in accounting, strong MS Excel skills, and exposure to ERP systems. This full-time role reports to Finance Manager and offers growth within a dynamic finance team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CA Inter / CMA Inter qualification would be an advantage.
  • 4–7 years of relevant accounting experience, GST & TDS exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, AP/AR & general accounting.
  • Proficient in MS Excel; experience with ERP software such as Tally, SAP, Oracle, Zoho Books.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and month-end closure.
  • Handle GST compliance, GST returns filing, and GST ledgers.
  • Prepare monthly TDS workings and file TDS returns.
  • Oversee accounts payable and vendor payments.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and collections; aging reports.
  • Prepare trial balance and assist in financial reporting.
  • Coordinate audits and maintain supporting docs.

Position: Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliances, taxation activities, and financial reporting. The candidate will be responsible for GST, TDS, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month-end closing, and overall accounting activities while ensuring accuracy and timely compliance.

Key Responsibilities
1. GST & Statutory Compliance
  • Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and other applicable returns) within prescribed timelines.
  • Perform GST reconciliation, including purchase/sales data and input tax credit (ITC).
  • Monitor GST ledgers, credit/debit notes, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with consultants/auditors for GST assessments, notices, and related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable statutory requirements.
2. TDS & Taxation
  • Prepare monthly TDS workings and ensure timely deduction and payment of TDS.
  • Prepare and file applicable TDS returns.
  • Reconcile TDS ledgers with books of accounts and Form 26AS/AIS where applicable.
  • Issue TDS certificates and handle vendor/customer TDS-related queries.
  • Coordinate with tax consultants for income-tax and other statutory requirements.
3. Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Manage the complete vendor payable cycle, including invoice verification, accounting, and payment processing.
  • Verify invoices against purchase orders, GRNs, approvals, and supporting documents.
  • Maintain vendor ledgers and perform regular vendor reconciliations.
  • Prepare payment schedules and ensure payments are made on time.
  • Monitor outstanding payables and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
4. Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Manage customer invoicing and accounting of receipts.
  • Maintain customer ledgers and perform regular reconciliations.
  • Track outstanding receivables and follow up for timely collections.
  • Prepare ageing reports and highlight overdue balances to management.
  • Resolve customer account discrepancies and ensure proper allocation of receipts.
5. General Accounting
  • Handle day-to-day accounting entries, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journal entries, expenses, provisions, and accruals.
  • Perform bank, customer, vendor, and ledger reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate books of accounts and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of accounts.
  • Prepare trial balance and other periodic financial reports.
  • Review accounting entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
6. MIS & Reporting
  • Prepare regular MIS reports related to receivables, payables, expenses, cash/bank positions, and statutory liabilities.
  • Provide financial information and analysis to management as required.
  • Identify unusual transactions, variances, and accounting discrepancies and report them promptly.
7. Audit & Compliance Support
  • Coordinate with internal, statutory, GST, and tax auditors.
  • Provide required schedules, reconciliations, ledgers, and supporting documents for audits.
  • Assist in preparation of financial statements and audit-related requirements.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CA Inter / CMA Inter qualification would be an advantage.
  • 4–7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an organization handling GST and TDS compliances.
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting.
  • Good understanding of Indian accounting and taxation practices.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel; experience with accounting/ERP software such as Tally, SAP, Oracle, Zoho Books, etc. is preferred.
  • Good analytical and reconciliation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and meet statutory and reporting deadlines.

  • Accuracy of books of accounts and reconciliations.
