Job summary

ON PURPOSE is seeking an Account Manager, Public Relations in Bengaluru to win client confidence through market understanding, media dynamics and precise documentation. You will develop strategic PR plans, map stakeholders, and design pitches to place clients at the heart of conversations.

The role requires 5–8 years in tech-enabled social impact, strong editing and writing skills, and experience managing national and regional client events (press conferences, briefings and follow‑ups).

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years’ relevant work experience in tech-enabled social impact
• Proficiency in editing, writing and formatting of documents
• Experience of successfully managing client events (press conferences, media briefings, interactions and follow-ups at national and regional level)

Your Role and Responsibilities

We’re looking for someone who’s going to win our client’s confidence by demonstrating a thorough understanding of the markets in which they operate, how the media works and a diligent approach to delivering flawless documents. To be considered for this role, you’ll need to show us experience in:

• Developing strategic PR plans using research and insights, campaign planning methodologies and use of sophisticated measurement and evaluation tools
• Mapping stakeholders who’d have an interest and impact on our client’s world
• Designing pitches and storylines that would place our client’s issues at the heart of relevant conversations
• Identifying opportunities in the media for our clients to be featured in
• Building trust within the team and providing direction to junior team members as a role model
• Working with senior team members on converting new business opportunities

• Client Relationship Management: 40%
• Media Relations: 20%
• New Business Development: 20%

What You’ll Need (must haves for the role)

• 5 to 8 years’ relevant work experience in sectors like technology, technology led social impact
• Proficiency in editing, writing and formatting of documents
• Experience of successfully managing client events ( press conferences, media briefings, interactions and follow-ups at national and regional level)

What Would Be Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism/ Mass Communications/ Public Affairs/ Public Relations
• Experience managing technology or healthcare account portfolios
• Ability to integrate social media into PR plans
• Freshly brewed coffee-making skills. But don't worry, we won't judge you for it.
