Job description

Job Summary

Title: Account Manager (Client Partner), Life Sciences

Location: Warrenville, IL (hybrid) or remote, US; Bengaluru, India

Type: Full-time, base plus variable compensation

Travel: Up to 30% for customer QBRs, executive meetings, and industry events

The role

You will be the trusted client partner for a portfolio of existing Cloudbyz customers, owning the relationship from day-to-day stakeholders to the C-suite. Your mandate is simple: make every customer measurably more successful with Cloudbyz, and grow our footprint as a result. You will co-create each customers strategy and multi-year execution plan, align Cloudbyz capabilities to their clinical, safety, and business goals, and lead the internal team that delivers on it. You own retention, renewals, and expansion across your book of business, typically 10-20 accounts ranging from emerging biotechs to global pharma and CROs.

Key responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end relationship for assigned accounts, serving as the primary point of accountability for customer outcomes.
  • Build multi-threaded relationships across clinical operations, pharmacovigilance, regulatory, quality, IT, finance, and procurement.
  • Develop and sustain C-level relationships (CEO, CMO, CIO, Head of Clinical Operations, Head of Safety), acting as a strategic advisor, not a vendor.
  • Maintain stakeholder maps and relationship plans for every account; identify champions, decision-makers, and risks early.
  • Serve as the customers advocate inside Cloudbyz, escalating and resolving issues across Product, Delivery, and Support.
Strategy and execution planning
  • Partner with customers to co-create an account strategy and 12-36 month execution roadmap aligned to their pipeline, trial portfolio, and digital transformation goals.
  • Translate customer objectives into a Cloudbyz adoption plan across CTMS, eTMF, EDC, CTFM, Safety/PV, and AI agents.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and annual executive business reviews (EBRs) that track progress against agreed goals.
  • Coordinate internal account teams (Solution Architects, Implementation PMs, Customer Success, Support) to deliver on the plan.
Value creation
  • Define measurable success criteria with each customer, such as study start-up cycle time, TMF inspection readiness, case processing timelines, and cost savings.
  • Build and present value realization reports and ROI stories that demonstrate business impact to executives.
  • Bring industry insight and best practices to help customers modernize processes and adopt AI-enabled workflows.
  • Turn successful customers into references, case studies, and advocates.
Account growth and expansion
  • Own renewals and drive net revenue retention through cross-sell of additional modules, new studies, sites, users, and AI agents.
  • Identify and qualify expansion opportunities; build account plans and forecast pipeline accurately in Salesforce.
  • Lead commercial negotiations for renewals and expansions in partnership with Sales leadership and Finance.
  • Co-sell with Salesforce account teams and partners where relevant.
Customer success and health
  • Monitor account health (adoption, usage, support trends, sentiment) and act early on churn risk.
  • Ensure smooth handoffs from implementation to steady state, and drive adoption and training programs.
  • Capture customer feedback and influence the product roadmap with Product Management.
Required qualifications
  • 8+ years in account management, client partnership, or enterprise SaaS sales, including 5+ years serving life sciences customers.
  • Track record of managing a book of enterprise accounts with consistent renewal and expansion results (eg, net revenue retention above 110%).
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain C-level relationships and lead executive business reviews.
  • Solid understanding of clinical development and/or pharmacovigilance operations and the technology that supports them (CTMS, eTMF, EDC, safety systems).
  • Experience building account strategies, value realization plans, and ROI business cases.
  • Strong commercial acumen: renewals, pricing, contract negotiation, and forecasting.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Bachelors degree in life sciences, business, engineering, or a related field.
Preferred qualifications
  • Prior experience at an eClinical, safety, or life sciences software vendor, or at a CRO or sponsor in a client-facing role.
  • Familiarity with the Salesforce ecosystem and co-selling with Salesforce account teams.
  • Understanding of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, ICH E6(R3), and GVP expectations as they affect buying decisions.
  • Experience positioning AI and automation to executive buyers.
  • Exposure to strategic account frameworks (eg, Miller Heiman, MEDDPICC, Challenger).
  • MBA or advanced degree in life sciences.
