Senior Full Stack Developer (Python + react) – Gurugram/Bangalore

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer with 6+ years of experience in Python, React.js, MongoDB, AWS, and Terraform to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications. You will own end-to-end feature delivery — architecting robust Python backend services and APIs alongside high-performance React frontends — backed by MongoDB data stores and deployed on AWS using Terraform-managed infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with architects, product owners, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and maintainable full stack solutions in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Backend — Python

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python backend services and RESTful APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or Django — applying clean architecture, SOLID principles, and production‑grade best practices.
• Build asynchronous backend services using Python async frameworks for high-throughput, low-latency workloads.
• Implement background task processing using Celery — ensuring reliable, scalable execution of long-running and scheduled jobs.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using Pytest — maintaining high code coverage and regression confidence across all backend deliverables.
• Enforce code quality standards using Black, Flake8, and MyPy — contributing to a clean, well‑typed, and consistently formatted Python codebase.

Frontend — React

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance React.js applications using TypeScript and modern hooks — delivering accessible, responsive, and pixel-perfect user interfaces.
• Implement complex state management using Redux Toolkit, React Query, or Context API — ensuring predictable and performant application state across data-intensive frontends.
• Integrate React frontends with Python backend REST APIs and GraphQL services — managing asynchronous data flows, error handling, loading states, and cache strategies.
• Build reusable, well‑documented React component libraries aligned to design system standards — using Storybook where applicable.
• Write comprehensive unit, component, and E2E tests using Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress / Playwright.

MongoDB & Data

• Design and implement MongoDB data models — applying document schema design best practices, embedding vs referencing strategies, and indexing for query performance.
• Build and optimise MongoDB aggregation pipelines for complex data transformation, reporting, and analytics use cases.
• Manage MongoDB Atlas cloud database — configuration, monitoring, scaling, backup, and performance tuning.
• Implement Redis caching strategies — session management, API response caching, and rate limiting for high-traffic application workloads.
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects to design efficient data access patterns across MongoDB and relational database stores.

AWS & Terraform

• Design and deploy cloud-native full stack applications on AWS — leveraging EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, DocumentDB, SQS, SNS, and API Gateway.
• Provision and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform — developing reusable, modular Terraform configurations for reproducible, version-controlled cloud resource management.
• Implement AWS security best practices — IAM least-privilege policies, KMS encryption, Secrets Manager, and Cognito authentication — across frontend and backend application layers.
• Build and maintain serverless application components using AWS Lambda and Step Functions — designing event-driven, auto-scaling workloads for appropriate use cases.
• Configure AWS monitoring and observability — CloudWatch dashboards, X‑Ray tracing, structured logging, and alerting — to maintain production health and support rapid incident resolution.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or GitHub Actions — automating build, test, Terraform plan/apply, and deployment workflows across Dev, Test, and Production environments.

Architecture & Delivery

• Own end-to-end feature delivery — from MongoDB schema design and Python API development through to React UI implementation, testing, and AWS deployment.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical design reviews — providing full stack perspective on feasibility, complexity, data modelling, and implementation trade-offs.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, UX Designers, Product Owners, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams in Agile sprint delivery.
• Conduct thorough code reviews — providing constructive technical feedback across Python, React, and Terraform codebases.
• Produce clear technical documentation — API contracts (OpenAPI / Swagger), MongoDB schema designs, Terraform module documentation, and architecture decision records.
• Mentor and support junior full stack developers — sharing knowledge across Python, React, MongoDB, and AWS domains.

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of full stack development experience with demonstrable hands‑on expertise across Python backend, React frontend, MongoDB, AWS, and Terraform in production environments.
• Strong Python proficiency — FastAPI, Flask, or Django — with proven REST API development, async programming, and clean architecture experience.
• Solid React.js and TypeScript skills — Hooks, state management (Redux / React Query), API integration, and component architecture in large-scale production applications.
• Deep MongoDB expertise — document schema design, aggregation pipelines, Atlas management, indexing, and query performance optimisation.
• Strong AWS experience — EC2, ECS / EKS, Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, IAM, API Gateway, and CloudWatch — in production cloud-native environments.
• Proven Terraform skills — modular IaC design, remote state management, AWS resource provisioning, and CI/CD integration.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes / EKS for containerised full stack application deployment.
• Solid CI/CD experience — GitLab CI or GitHub Actions — for automated build, test, and deployment pipelines across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals — SOLID principles, design patterns, TDD, clean architecture, and security best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills — able to engage effectively with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with GraphQL API development — Strawberry / Ariadne (Python) and Apollo Client (React).
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture — Apache Kafka, AWS EventBridge, or Kinesis.
• Knowledge of GenAI / LLM integration — LangChain, LlamaIndex — for AI-augmented full stack application features.
• Exposure to AWS Bedrock or SageMaker for AI / ML service integration.
• Experience with Next.js for SSR / SSG alongside React.
• Familiarity with Terragrunt for Terraform configuration management at scale.
• AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS Solutions Architect certification.
• Experience in Financial Services, FinTech, Retail, or other regulated industry environments.
