Job summary

Tekskills is seeking an Ab Initio Administrator to manage and optimize the Ab Initio ETL environment. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, performance tuning, job scheduling, and cross-functional collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.

The role requires hands-on Ab Initio experience, Unix/Linux proficiency, and strong ETL/data warehousing knowledge. Cloud and DevOps exposure (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Ab Initio tools (GDE, EME, Metadata Hub).
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
• Solid understanding of ETL and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with databases like Oracle, Teradata, PostgreSQL, and SQL.
• Experience with AWS services (EKS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Ab Initio components (Co>Operating System, EME, GDE, Control Center).
• Manage metadata repositories and operational consoles.
• Monitor ETL job performance and system health; troubleshoot failures.
• Manage user accounts and access controls; enforce security policies.
• Schedule ETL jobs using Control Center, Autosys, or similar tools; develop automation scripts.
• Provide L2/L3 support for ETL jobs and platform issues; collaborate with dev and data engineers.
• Maintain technical documentation for configurations, processes, and standards; ensure governance compliance.

Job Summary:

The Ab Initio Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the Ab Initio ETL environment to ensure efficient, secure, and reliable data processing. This includes installation, configuration, performance tuning, job scheduling, troubleshooting, and collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Environment Management:
• Install, configure, and maintain Ab Initio components (Co>Operating System, EME, GDE, Control Center).
• Manage metadata repositories and operational consoles.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
• Monitor ETL job performance and system health.
• Troubleshoot job failures and optimize workflows.
• User Access & Security:
• Manage user accounts and access controls.
• Implement and maintain security protocols.
• Job Scheduling & Automation:
• Schedule ETL jobs using Control Center, Autosys, or similar tools.
• Develop automation scripts using Shell, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Troubleshooting & Support:
• Provide L2/L3 support for ETL jobs and platform issues.
• Collaborate with developers and data engineers to resolve issues.
• Documentation & Compliance:
• Maintain technical documentation for configurations, processes, and standards.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
• Cloud & DevOps Integration (Preferred):
• Support migration and management of Ab Initio on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Use DevOps tools like Jenkins for CI/CD automation.
