Job summary

Humanscale is seeking an Architecture & Design Manager in India to collaborate with leading design practices, architects, and workplace consultants. You will help shape projects from early design through specification and execution, aligning ergonomic and sustainable Humanscale solutions with client needs.

You will build relationships, conduct design conversations, and guide project opportunities through collaboration with sales, marketing, and dealer networks across the country.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in commercial interiors, workplace design, or architecture.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with architects, interior designers, workplace consultants, and key design influencers across India.

About the Role

We believe that better workplaces begin with better design. Our Architecture & Design Manager will work closely with the people shaping workplaces across India, helping architects, interior designers, workplace consultants and project stakeholders create environments that support people, performance and wellbeing.

As an A&D Manager, you will be the face of Humanscale within the design community. You will build meaningful relationships with leading design practices, introduce them to the thinking behind Humanscale solutions, and influence workplace projects from the early stages of design through specification and execution.

This role is about more than presenting products. It is about understanding how people work, recognising the challenges faced by modern workplaces, and helping the design community discover thoughtful, ergonomic and sustainable solutions that can become part of their projects.

You will work closely with the sales, marketing, operation support and dealer network to turn design conversations into project opportunities and long-term business relationships.

What You Will Do

• Build and nurture strong relationships with architects, interior designers, workplace consultants and key design influencers across India.
• Represent Humanscale within the Architecture and Design community, creating awareness around our approach to ergonomics, design and sustainability.
• Identify key design practices and decision makers who can influence future workplace projects and specifications.
• Develop a structured engagement plan for priority A&D firms and maintain consistent interaction throughout the year.
• Conduct studio visits, product presentations, design conversations and monthly Lunch & Learn sessions.
• Introduce designers to Humanscale products, applications, materials, finishes and ergonomic principles through relevant project-based discussions.
• Influence the early stages of workplace projects by providing design and product recommendations aligned with project requirements.
• Identify opportunities where Humanscale solutions can be incorporated into workplace, education, hospitality and other commercial environments.
• Track projects from initial design discussions through specification, procurement and installation, maintaining strong engagement at every stage.
• Collaborate with the sales team and dealer partners to develop project strategies and support the conversion of specifications into business opportunities.
• Support client presentations, product demonstrations, mock ups, workshops and other project related activities.
• Manage mock up aesthetics, mock up inventory, and finish card/swatch inventory, ensuring all materials are well maintained, organised and readily available for sales engagements and project presentations.
• Work with the marketing team to develop A&D focused events, content, campaigns and educational initiatives.
• Support the planning and development of Humanscale Experience Centres/showrooms and dealer spaces to create engaging product experiences for the design community.
• Stay informed about developments in workplace design, ergonomics, sustainability, materials and evolving ways of working, and bring relevant insights into conversations with designers.
• Maintain accurate project and relationship information in CRM, report A&D engagement and pipeline progress, and continuously identify opportunities to strengthen Humanscale’s presence within the design community.

Success in this role will be measured by the strength and quality of relationships developed as well as the business impact created through those relationships.

What You Bring

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Interior Design, Business, or a related discipline.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience within commercial interiors, workplace design, furniture, architecture, specification or a related industry.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently engage senior designers and business stakeholders.
• A relationship driven approach with the ability to build credibility and trust over time.
• Strong understanding of commercial workplace environments and the role that furniture plays within workplace design.
• Ability to manage several relationships, projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Comfortable presenting to groups, conducting product demonstrations and leading design conversations.
• Willingness to travel within India as required for meetings, events and project engagements.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have

• Experience working with premium or international commercial furniture brands.
• Existing relationships within architecture, interior design or workplace consulting communities.
• Understanding of workplace strategy, ergonomics, employee wellbeing and contemporary workplace trends.
• Interest in sustainable design, responsible materials and circular approaches to product development.
• Experience working with dealer networks, specification teams or project-based sales environments.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms and project tracking systems.
• Experience organising design events, educational programmes or industry engagement initiatives.
• A genuine interest in design and an ability to translate product features into meaningful design and workplace benefits.
