Job summary

EXL is seeking a Life and Annuity Platforms analyst to drive strategic planning, financial modeling, and performance analysis. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate strategy into actionable plans, build financial models, and create dashboards to monitor delivery and financial KPIs.

The role emphasizes data-driven insights, proactive alerts on business health, and close partnership with PMO/Finance to track budgets and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 6–8 years of total experience in software service industry, with at least 4 years in strategy, business planning, financial analysis, project management or MIS.
• Excellent communication & negotiation skills.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and dashboarding.

Basic Function

Strategic Planning & Execution

Support the development and execution of annual and long-term business unit strategy plans.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategic goals with operational execution.

Proactive analysis and alerts on business health by tracking objective key results

Ensure data is gathered timely and accurately from multiple teams

Resource and Delivery Analysis

Analyze delivery projects and the team composition

Track overall status of projects and resources

Partner with delivery and project managers/PMO to gather data for delivery performance

Financial Analysis & Business Modeling

Analyze business unit financials, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.

Build and maintain financial models to support strategic decisions and investment cases.

Partner with Finance to track KPIs and budget performance.

Data Reporting & Dashboarding

Analyze complex data sets to draw meaningful conclusions and present findings to key stakeholders.

Create visually compelling presentations that communicate strategic recommendations effectively.

Design and maintain dashboards to monitor key operational and strategic metrics.

Automate and streamline reporting processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Market Analysis

Review and interpret market research reports, industry publications, and competitor analysis.

Identify emerging trends, market shifts, and innovation opportunities relevant to the business unit.

Conduct gap analysis to assess current business performance against market benchmarks.

Provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations to leadership.
