Job summary

Wärtsilä in Goregaon/Noida is seeking a skilled 3D designer to contribute to simulator projects, with hands-on experience in graphic design and 3D tools.

You will work on 3DsMAX, Photoshop, low-poly modelling, texturing, UVs, and collaborate with developers to improve the simulator environment.

Qualifications

• Advance Diploma/Degree in 3D Design & software development.
• 2 years hands on experience in graphic designing.
• Hands on experience on 3DsMAX.
• Hands on experience on Adobe Photoshop or other 2D editor.
• Experience on Low poly 3D modelling, texturing and UV work.
• Game engine experience preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation and teamwork skills.
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions.
• Willingness to train and develop skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and correct simulator scenes based on chart data and additional data.
• Create and correct 3D object models and place them accurately in scenes.
• Create and correct ship 3D models and verify visuals.
• Source data conversion to internal formats and texture creation.
• Assist Lead Developer and prepare quotations, specs and fixes.
• Maintain ongoing planning for deliverables and product lifecycle.
• Interact with hubs and end users on technical issues.
• Improve 3D development processes with new tools and standards.

• Creation and correction of a simulator scene based on the electronic chart data and with additional data taken into account.
• Creation and correction of 3D object models (prototypes), placing them in the correct points of the scene.
• Creation and correction of ship 3D models.
• Search for additional source data as required.
• Source data conversion to internal formats.
• Creating a set of textures needed.
• Assembly and testing of the simulator scene/simulator ship model.
• Assist the Lead Developer by:
• Passing of ready-to-deliver simulator databases status
• Preparation of quotations, specifications and fixes.
• Keeping update the Long term Planning for deliverables and other contract stages of a product lifecycle.
• Keeping internal reporting systems updated.
• Keeping the Lead Developer informed about non-compliances occurring in the simulator database production.
• If required, participating in the meetings and seminars on the subject matter connected with the simulator database production.
• Testing of the software current commercial version used for the database production and keeping the developers informed about the identified defects.
• Adhere to internal company and functional policies and procedures.
• Improvement of own professional competency.
• Interaction with hubs and end users on technical issues of the simulator database development.
• Improve Development process for the 3D environment by suggesting new softwares, standards and market practices that change or increase product quality to end users.

Advance Diploma/Degree in 3D Design & software development

Experience :

• 2 years hands on experience in graphic designing
• Hands on experience on 3DsMAX
• Hands on experience on Adobe Photoshop or any other 2D editor software
• Experience on Low poly 3D modelling (Hard surface), Texturing, UV works
• Candidates with Game engine experience will be preferred.
