Job summary

WSP India is seeking a qualified Civil/Structural Engineer to join its Maritime Structures team in India. The role spans concept to detailed design of maritime infrastructure, including quays, jetties, dolphins, and Ro-Ro facilities.

You will perform analyses, prepare reports and drawings, coordinate with CAD technicians, and ensure compliance with Eurocodes and British standards. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to deliver high‑quality outputs.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of maritime structural design experience.
• Proficient in Eurocodes and British standards for maritime structures.
• Strong proficiency with STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis, AutoCAD.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analyses, calculations, and design of maritime infrastructure.

The incumbent will be a part of maritime structures team and will be responsible to carry out design work for maritime team, that ranges from concept level to detailed design.

The incumbent will be a part of maritime structures team and will be responsible to carry out design work for maritime team, that ranges from concept level to detailed design.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical tasks assigned such as structural analyses, calculations, design, verification or desktop studies for the development of maritime infrastructure
• Perform berthing studies, mooring analyses, condition assessments and rehabilitation studies
• Preparation of reports, specifications, cost estimates and undertaking tender reviews.
• Communication with internal clients and other design team members
• Coordinate development of drawing packages with CAD technicians
• Apply skill and care in design and take ownership of assigned work packages

Key Competencies / Skills:

Mandatory Skills

• 4-6 years demonstrable experience of structural design of maritime structures including marginal quays (blockwork walls, combi-walls, etc), jetties, dolphins, Ro Ro facilities, marinas, coastal structures etc.
• Good knowledge of all the relevant Eurocodes and British standards applicable to maritime structures
• Excellent computer/software skills (STAAD.Pro, Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis, AutoCAD, MS Office)
• Knowledge of construction techniques and buildability of maritime structures
• Knowledge of construction materials
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills
• Good written and verbal skills, ability to produce high quality reports

Desired Skills

• Member of/working towards a Professional body membership will be preferred
• History of working with an international engineering consultancy
• Familiar with working in multidisciplinary teams involving, architects, M&E engineers, planners, geotechnical engineers and quantity surveyors
• Ability to undertake tasks with minimal supervision
