Job summary

Client in Ireland is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join the operations team. You will promote a Zero Harm culture, support continuous improvement, and ensure safe systems of work across the facility while reporting to the Operations Manager.

Role involves floor presence, engagement with employees at all levels, and leading Health & Safety compliance, audits, training, and incident management in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Recognised Health & Safety qualification.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with employees and management at all levels of the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Health & Safety policy implementation and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Provide expert Health & Safety guidance to management and staff.
• Review and update policies per legislation and best practice.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and coordinate control measures.
• Schedule and run Health & Safety audits and inspections.
• Deliver inductions and safety training to employees.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses; maintain records.
• Maintain Health & Safety documentation and reporting; support committee meetings.
