Job summary

City of Dublin YMCA is seeking a Developmental Driver/Maintenance Assistant on a Community Employment placement in Dublin. This part-time role supports after-school services and events, transporting children and young people to YMCA hubs and partner schools, with Garda vetting required before starting.

The position requires a clean driving licence (categories B-D), good communication and time-management skills, and willingness to engage with young people in a positive, safe manner.

Qualifications

• Eligible for Community Employment (DSP criteria)
• Holds a valid and clean driver's license
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• No prior experience required; accredited training provided

Responsibilities

• Collect and drop off local children and young people.
• Drive to partner schools and locations to bring participants to YMCA hubs.
• Perform safety checks on vehicle and maintain cleanliness.
• Prepare vehicle for annual car test.
• Assist with room setups and minor maintenance (plumbing, painting, carpentry, electrical).
• Perform routine inspections and deep cleaning of hubs.
