Job summary

City of Dublin YMCA is seeking a Youth Services Assistant to support young people aged 10-24 within Dublin communities and PlusOne mentoring program. You will work with volunteers and parents, helping plan weekly activities and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

This developmental role requires no prior experience; accredited training will be provided. The position is part-time (19.5 hours/week) with afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend shifts at Parkside/Dublin locations, and laptop

• The person will have the ability to empathise with, support and motivate young people.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage with young people during youth clubs or group mentoring sessions.
• Assist in school provision – helping with homework where needed.
• Act as a positive role model for youth participants.
• Assist in developing and facilitating activities with the young people.
• Supervise the young people on trips and events.
• Assist in daily handover and attendance records and contribute to programme planning.
