Job summary

Aerial Platform Hire – part of Briggs Equipment Group in Ireland is seeking a proactive Yard Supervisor to lead the daily warehouse and yard operations. You will manage the safe receipt, storage and dispatch of equipment, ensuring high standards of organisation, safety and efficiency.

The role requires solid warehouse/yard experience, strong communication, and a valid forklift licence; powered access licences are a plus. This is a permanent, on-site position based in Newbridge, County Kildare.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse/yard or equipment-based role is essential.
• Strong communication and professional approach when dealing with customers and colleagues.
• Forklift licence with practical operating experience is desirable; powered access licences are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse and yard operations, including safe receipt, storage, movement and dispatch of equipment.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound equipment with Workshop and Operations Managers to improve site processes.
• Ensure equipment is booked in/out using InspHire and maintained with accurate stock checks.
• Inspect returned hire equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Plan and support safe loading/unloading activities and identify unsafe practices.
• Maintain housekeeping, manage waste, COSHH materials, gas cylinders, fuel and spill response.
• Supervise and develop direct reports, ensuring training and licences are in place.
• Follow company policies and safety guidelines.

We’re looking for a driven and committed Yard Supervisor to lead the day-to-day activities across our warehouse and yard. You’ll ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of equipment while maintaining high standards of organisation, safety and operational efficiency.

In this role, you will:

• Oversee daily warehouse and yard operations, including the safe receipt, storage, movement and dispatch of equipment.


• Work closely with the Workshop and Operations Managers to coordinate inbound and outbound equipment and improve site processes.


• Ensure equipment is prepared to the required departmental standards and correctly booked in and out using InspHire.


• Maintain accurate stock control, complete regular stock checks and manage equipment rotation, including charging cycles for electric machines.


• Inspect returned hire equipment, record damage promptly and coordinate any required repairs.


• Plan and support safe loading and unloading activities, identifying and resolving unsafe practices.


• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and manage waste, COSHH materials, gas cylinders, fuel and spill response safely.


• Supervise, support and develop direct reports, ensuring all required training and licences are in place.


• Follow all company policies, procedures and safety guidelines.

• Self-motivated, proactive and confident working independently.


• Significant experience in a similar warehouse, yard or equipment-based role.


• A valid forklift truck licence with practical operating experience is desirable.


• Powered access licences are desirable.
