Job summary

Force Recruitment & Outsourcing is seeking a Steel Yard & Warehouse Operative for its Naas facility in Co. Kildare. The role requires a proactive attitude, teamwork, and full on-the-job training with opportunities for upskilling.

The ideal candidate will hold a forklift licence (desirable), a full driving licence, and strong communication and attention to detail. The position is full-time, with overtime where needed and pension and training benefits offered.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Health and Safety requirements.
• Pick orders accurately and efficiently.
• Carry out stock counts as required.
• Check all orders prior to dispatch and report issues to the Manager.
• Check in deliveries and highlight discrepancies or issues.
• Pack and wrap orders for dispatch per procedures.
• Load and unload vehicles safely.
• Move and store products in designated areas.
• Deal with colleagues, customers and hauliers in a proactive, helpful manner.
• Put away stock and orders in allocated areas.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised workspace.
• Report issues to the Supervisor.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Job Description

• Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements.
• Pick orders accurately and efficiently.
• Carry out stock counts as required.
• Check all orders prior to dispatch and report any issues to the Manager, including duplicates and shortages, ensuring that orders, invoices and goods match.
• Check in deliveries and highlight any discrepancies or issues.
• Pack and wrap orders for dispatch in accordance with company procedures.
• Check courier manifests to ensure the correct number of boxes and note any changes, pallets or return requests.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Move and store products in the correct designated areas.
• Deal with colleagues, customers and hauliers in a proactive, helpful and professional manner.
• Put away stock and orders in the allocated warehouse areas.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised work area.
• Report any issues or concerns to the Supervisor.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the Manager from time to time.

Requirements

• Forklift licence desirable.
• Full driving licence.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality.
• Experience operating a multidirectional forklift is an advantage but not essential.
• Flexibility to work overtime when required.
• Enjoy working in a warehouse environment and interacting with customers.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
