Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Inc. in Ireland seeks an experienced Workshop Manager to lead the Dungarvan area operations. You will drive daily/weekly production targets, coordinate planning, and oversee continuous improvement of manufacturing processes with a hands-on leadership approach.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing, a related degree, and strong ERP/Microsoft Office skills. The position is full-time and on-site in the Dungarvan area, reporting to Operations leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an operations or manufacturing environment.
• Third level qualification in manufacturing, engineering or operations management.
• Previous team lead or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead workshop staff and drive achievement of daily/weekly production targets.
• Assist planning and scheduling to meet operational demands.
• Prepare regular operational reports and monitor production data.
• Communicate updates and priorities to team and management.
• Identify inefficiencies and contribute to process improvements.
• Monitor product quality and escalate issues to Quality Lead.
• Coordinate maintenance planning to minimise downtime.
• Provide supervisory cover during absences to ensure continuity.

Purpose of Role

To support daily operations by ensuring production schedules and targets are achieved while maintaining high quality standards. The role supports planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, while leading the team to deliver consistent results.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Performance

• Managing workshop staff
• Deliver on daily/weekly production schedules and work targets
• Ensure team focus, commitment, and accountability for quality output
• Drive consistent achievement of operational KPIs

Planning & Scheduling

• Assist Operations Manager with production scheduling and planning
• Support coordination of resources to meet operational demands

Reporting & Administration

• Prepare regular operational reports
• Maintain and update spreadsheets and tracking sheets
• Accurately input and monitor production data

Meetings & Communication

• Attend team and operations meetings as required
• Communicate updates, priorities, and issues clearly to team and management

Process & Continuous Improvement

• Improve manufacturing flow
• Support implementation and setup of new processes
• Identify inefficiencies and contribute to process improvements

Quality

• Monitor product quality and adherence to standards
• Raise and elevate quality issues to the Quality Lead

Maintenance

• Assist in planning and coordination of machine maintenance
• Support efforts to minimise downtime and maintain equipment efficiency

Leadership Support

• Provide supervisory cover during Supervisor/Manager absences (e.g. PTO, Jury Duty)
• Ensure smooth continuation of operations during absences
