Job summary

Uisce Éireann is seeking a Workflow Quality and Governance Advisor to drive a culture of quality improvement across the Workflow team. You will oversee data governance, ensure compliance with standards, and collaborate with Asset Operations, Asset Delivery and Customer Operations to optimise processes.

Reporting to the Workflow Quality and Governance Technical Lead, you will manage data quality assurance, implement efficient workflows, and maintain systems such as Maximo and GIS to support

Qualifications

  • Relevant third level qualification and/or accreditation is desirable.
  • Proven experience with data governance and quality standards in a utility or similar environment.
  • Strong leadership and change-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure data governance and quality standards are adhered to and support regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Asset Operations, Operations & Maintenance, and Customer Operations to promote best practices in work management.
  • Develop and implement workflows and processes to support transformation initiatives.
  • Manage high-priority and emergency service requests with timely escalation as needed.
  • Monitor data quality and audit trails to ensure data integrity.
  • Maintain asset databases in Maximo and GIS to ensure fit-for-purpose data.

The Role:

The Asset Operations function forms the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The Asset Operations function has responsibility for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered.

The Workflow Functional Area is responsible for the management and monitoring of all outdoor work through the full work order lifecycle from planning to closure. This includes overseeing the initiation, dispatch and progression of work orders, processing of service requests, allocating adequate resources, identification of bundling opportunities, identification of work pre-requisites, creation of work orders to be progressed and dispatched to the field, the management of the logistics and stores to enable effective and efficient inventory control, Outage notification & processing and complaint resolution.

Reporting to the Workflow Quality and Governance Technical Lead, the Workflow Quality and Governance Advisor will drive forward a culture of quality improvement returning to the department from the field and projects, ensuring the Workflow team are consistently operating to a high standard. The Quality Workflow and Governance Advisor will play an important role in optimising productivity and maintaining standards and processes within the Workflow team through effective data governance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for ensuring that data governance and quality standards are adhered to and support regulatory requirements and Uisce Éireann company objectives
  • CollaboratewithmanagementacrossUisce Éireanntocommunicate,promoteandshareguidanceandbestpracticeonworkmanagement systems, methodologies, benefits andgovernanceframeworks
  • Developastrongunderstandingofregulatorymatters within the teamandensurethatallteamactivitiesare carriedout in-linewith established best practices
  • Develop and implementallnecessaryWorkflowsystemsandprocesses to support ongoing transformation initiatives as required
  • Responsible for ensuringstandardised work processes across the Workflow team in order to ensureefficientdeliveryofoperationalworkagainstplansandtargetsforbothLocalAuthorityand third-party service providers
  • Ensuretheeffectiveandtimelymanagementofallhigh priority / emergency servicerequestsreceivedfromthe UÉContactCentre or other sources,includingescalationtoseniormanagement,whenwarranted
  • Manage regular data quality assurance and audit to ensure sufficient data integrity
  • Work closely with counterparts from Asset Management, Operations & Maintenance etc. to resolve data quality or governance issues
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of relevant procedures and standards related to asset information
  • Support direct reports in shaping and implementing efficient and effective processes, and adopt the best practice data governance procedures
  • Ensure that asset databases in key Uisce Éireann systems, e.g. Maximo and GIS systems are maintained and are fit for purpose
  • Promote anddrivecontinuedworkmanagementevolutionandbestpractices tosupportthecaptureof all Uisce Éireann field activity
  • MonitorworkmanagementKPI’sandmakeappropriaterecommendationstothebusinessto ensure best practicesare implementedandstakeholderexpectations areachieved
  • BuildandfosterkeyrelationshipsacrossAssetOperations,AssetDelivery,CustomerOperations and the wider Uisce Éireann business ensuring focuson providing supporttoallaspectsofworkmanagement delivery
  • Proactivelyidentify areas for improvementand coordinate progression of the requiredenhancementinitiatives
  • Raise risks and issues, asappropriate,to management
  • UnderstandandcontributetoachievingtheobjectivesandtargetsoftheWorkflowfunctionand overall departmental business plans
  • Performother such dutiesas required
General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and maintain governance over user access controls.
  • Implement and maintain quality standards aligned with workflow, audit, and governance requirements.
  • Monitor, manage, and resolve new mobile application errors related to data workflows.
  • Act as the primary representative at governance forums, ensuring new job plans meet agreed standards and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate and execute testing activities to validate system or process changes before implementation.
  • Provide visible leadership for your team, coaching and developing them to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives, promoting collaboration and highlighting the behaviours that are expected from everyone in the team.
  • Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information, and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation
  • Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Relevant third level qualification and/or accreditation is desirable
  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in the water, utilities or similar industries.
  • Proficient in the use of IBM Maximo for asset management and workflow operations.
  • Proven ability to review and interpret team performance data, assess inter-team workflows, and identify process improvements that enhance productivity, collaboration, and service delivery.
  • We work better together - experience managing a team, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.
  • Experience in the area of people, change management and conflict resolution skills
