Job summary

John J. Duffy Construction Limited t/a JJ Duffy Demolition, based in Navan, Co. Meath, is seeking an experienced Welder for immediate start at their Navan facility. The role requires mig and fillet welding, drawing interpretation and weld quality control on-site.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of welding experience; on-the-job training is provided. Annual remuneration is €36,605, with a payment rate of €18.05 per hour. 39-hour work week in the construction sector.

Qualifications

1-3 years’ of previous welding experience required.
Welding Certification preferred but not essential.
There are no minimum academic requirements.
Further training will be provided on-the-job as required.
Candidates must be able to mig weld, perform fillet welds and read drawings.

Responsibilities

Operate welding equipment to join metalwork pieces.
Perform fusion welding using various techniques and materials.
Conduct simple visual inspection of welds.
Perform fillet welds and mig welding; read drawings.
Wear protective gear and adhere to safety standards.
Smooth burrs and recognise metal imperfections.
Have knowledge of welding techniques, torch temperature, and fuel gas.
Read drawings (2D/3D) and weld accordingly.
Align components and operate welding equipment including oxy-fuel torch.
Apply arc welding and precision metalworking techniques.

Job Description

Our client, John J. Duffy Construction Limited t/a JJ Duffy Demolition, based in Navan, Co. Meath, is currently seeking Welders for immediate start at their facility in Navan, Co. Meath.

General Duties / Responsibilities / Experience:

To operate welding equipment in order to join metalwork pieces together
To use fusion welding processes based on various techniques and materials
To perform simple visual inspection of welds
To perform fillet welds, mig welding and to read drawings
To wear appropriate protective gear and adhere to safety standards
To smooth burred surfaces and recognise metal imperfections
This role requires knowledge of welding techniques, torch temperature for metal processes, metal thermal conductivity and fuel gas
Essential knowledge includes welding from drawings (2D and 3D), mig welding and fillet welds
Essential skills include aligning components, joining metals and operating welding equipment, including oxy-fuel torch
Candidates must be competent to apply arc welding techniques and precision metalworking techniques
Candidates must be competent to ensure correct metal temperature and handle fuels
Candidates must have experience in recognising signs of corrosion and removing inadequate workpieces
Candidates must have experience in performing metal active gas welding and inert gas welding
Candidates must have 1-3 years’ of relevant experience as a Welder
Experience as a Welder in the construction or demolition industry is a plus

Annual Remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay rate €18.05 per hour
