Job summary

Valeo is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Tuam, Ireland. The role focuses on preventative maintenance and rapid response to downtime to ensure TRP and TLR targets are met. Strong knowledge of electronics testing and PC-based tools is required.

You will work with cross-functional teams to improve equipment performance, follow 5S standards, and train other technicians while supporting a safe, efficient production line.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
• 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (electronics preferred).
• Experience with both in-circuit and functional testing.
• Strong PC-based testing knowledge (software/hardware installation).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on schedule and Update PM records.
• Address unscheduled downtime and defective-product issues promptly with containment and root-cause analysis.
• Log downtime and generate DT reports per shift and support Spare Parts management.
• Adhere to 5S in production and technician areas and participate in shift handovers.
• Provide training to other technicians and support process/equipment improvements.

Adhere to troubleshooting standards.** - **Correct the problem** + **Log all equipment downtime and generate DT reports each shift*** **Support ERIM process*** **Document and communicate all Spare Parts consumed. Highlight any spare parts related issues.*** **Work with Spare Parts Technician to optimise spare parts inventory, cost, supplier reduction, etc*** **Ensure the relevant information is shared effectively across all shifts and among all required groups.*** **Ensure an effective shift handover occurs at the start/end of each shift*** **Complete preventative maintenance tasks to schedule. Update PM records.
