Job summary

Valeo Service in Tuam is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for a night shift position on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will provide support to the production team, maintain equipment, and ensure efficiency targets are met.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate/Diploma in Electronic Engineering and experience in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of automotive protocols and PC-based testing. Valeo offers a collaborative work environment with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Electronics Industry.
• Working knowledge of both in-circuit and functional test.
• Experience with SMT and pneumatic control systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support production equipment to achieve OEE and TLR targets.
• Document and communicate spare parts consumed.
• Provide training to other technicians on equipment use.

Skills

Follow-up on safety-related tasks as assigned.*** **Provide a level of support to Production so that the OEE and TLR targets are consistently achieved :** + **Respond to unscheduled downtime/defective-product situations promptly :** - **Be able to specify/document/communicate the problem clearly [5W2H]** - **Be able to put an effective Containment in place : return the process to making good parts. Follow up with permanent corrective action as required.** - **Adhere to Line QRQC(Quick response quality control) standard.** - **Application of escalation procedure** - **Establish the root cause. Application of logical thinking. Be able to use equipment schematics, manuals, etc in the course of establishing root cause. Adhere to troubleshooting standards.** - **Correct the problem** + **Log all equipment downtime and generate downtime reports each shift*** **Support TPM (total productive maintenance) process*** **Document and communicate all spare parts consumed. Highlight any spare parts related issues.*** **Work with spare parts technician to optimise spare parts inventory, cost, supplier reduction, etc*** **Ensure the relevant information is shared effectively across all shifts and among all required groups.*** **Ensure an effective shift handover occurs at the start/end of each shift*** **Complete preventative maintenance (PM) tasks to schedule. Update PM records.
