Job summary

BaxterStorey in Limerick is hiring a Kitchen Porter for 20 hours per week, Saturdays and Sundays with some weekday availability. The role covers dishwashing, keeping the kitchen clean, basic food prep, inventory support and health & safety tasks. An enhanced rate applies for unsociable hours.

No formal education is required; catering/kitchen experience is a plus, with strong teamwork and attention to detail. We offer training, free meals on shift, parking, and Perkbox discounts.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order
