Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a reliable Weekend Cook for Cork City to prepare fresh, nutritious meals for weekend service. The role supports a busy kitchen, working Saturdays and Sundays with a friendly team and emphasis on quality. This fixed-term, part-time position offers on-site parking and access to Sodexo benefits.

You will play a key part in delivering high standards of food preparation, presentation and hygiene during weekend operations, helping ensure positive meals for clients and staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience cooking in a professional kitchen or catering environment.
• Passion for preparing good-quality food.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen requirements.
• Ability to follow menus, recipes and established procedures.
• Good organisation and time management skills.
• Reliable, responsible and flexible approach to work.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high standards.
• Friendly, respectful approach and focus on creating a positive mealtime experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious and well-balanced meals to a high standard.
• Follow menus and recipes while ensuring food is prepared and presented with care.
• Adapt to dietary requirements and ensure safe preparation.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety.
• Keep kitchen, equipment and preparation areas clean and ready for service.
• Monitor food levels and minimise waste through accurate preparation and portion control.
• Work independently while supporting the wider catering team when required.
• Help create a warm, welcoming and positive mealtime experience.
• Follow Sodexo and client procedures and complete required food safety checks.
