Job summary

Sodexo Group is seeking a Weekend Cook in Cork City for a fixed-term, part-time position. This role runs Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00am to 3:00pm, offering 12 hours per week at €16.50 per hour with free onsite parking and access to Sodexo’s benefits package.

You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals to a high standard, follow menus, respect dietary requirements, and maintain strict hygiene and safety standards while supporting the catering team and creating a warm mealtime experience.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking in a professional kitchen or catering environment.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen requirements.
• Ability to follow menus, recipes and established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious and well-balanced meals to a consistently high standard.
• Follow menus and recipes while ensuring food is prepared and presented with care.
• Adapt to individual dietary requirements and ensure food is prepared safely and appropriately.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety.
• Ensure the kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas are kept clean, organised and ready for service.
• Monitor food levels and minimise waste through effective preparation and portion control.
• Work independently while also supporting the wider catering team when required.
• Help create a warm, welcoming and positive mealtime experience.
• Follow all Sodexo and client procedures and complete required food safety and hygiene checks.

• A reliable, responsible and flexible approach to your work
• Ability to work independently and take pride in maintaining high standards
• A friendly and respectful approach, with a focus on providing a positive experience for those you are cooking for
