Job summary

WuXi Biologics Dundalk site seeks a Lead (Associate Director) to drive the WuXi Business System (WBS) across the site and to elevate program management capabilities. You will act as a change agent, mentoring colleagues in Lean tools and ensuring data-driven improvements in cost, quality and safety.

The role collaborates with all functions on site and aligns with the corporate WBS team, reporting to the WBS Director. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen and mentoring WBS project leaders.

Responsibilities

WuXi Business Systems (WBS) Lead (Associate Director)

The WBS Lead role is key to the WuXi Biologics Dundalk site and will be responsible for driving the implementation of WuXi Business System (WBS) across the site & enhancing our program management capability. The WBS is WuXi Biologics' integrated operating system for operational excellence using lean tools and systems to drive continuous improvement across all business pillars.

The incumbent will act as a change agent, responsible for promoting new efficient ways of working to create an environment that is change agile, and drives a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and learning. Both facilitator and project manager, the incumbent is responsible for the successful planning, facilitation, scheduling and completion of multiple WBS improvement projects that deliver measurable to improvements in efficiency, cost, quality and safety across the site. The role requires close collaboration and partnership with all functions on site & alignment with the corporate WBS team. Training and mentoring of colleagues in WBS tools and techniques to enable problem solving across all levels of the organisation is fundamental to this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Partner and support the WBS Director with the development and deployment of the WBS strategy for the Dundalk Site & associated Scorecard – tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, ensuring timely collation of data gathering for routine reporting at site and above site.
• Develop and deliver key training modules to support WBS mindset and drive for continuous improvement.
• Develop and Manage portfolio of cross functional WBS Projects, apply implementation criteria to ensure alignment with site strategy for delivery of cost saving and yield improvement initiatives.
• Manage stage-gate reporting of WBS Projects as appropriate.
• Drive improvements within the business working with key stakeholders within the business to support achievement of departmental and site objectives.
• Lead Site Level WBS improvement activities with a key focus on cycle time reduction and waste elimination.
• Serve as a change agent and key site influencer.
• Demonstrate the appropriate use of Lean techniques during WBS projects.
• Influence, Coach/Train employees in Lean Techniques and Principles in order to develop an organization wide culture of change.
• Perform all duties in accordance with regulatory and statutory requirements, including GMP, EHS, data integrity, SOPs and controlled documents.
• Will be flexible to take on additional tasks and responsibilities at the discretion of the WBS Director & Site Lead.
• Will act as a role model for the wider organisation in adherence to the WuXi corporate core values and PROUD culture.

Person Requirements

• Proficient in Strategic Planning and Policy Deployment at Site/Business Unit level. Prior experience with WuXi Business System highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering complex OpEx Programs with expertise in Value Stream mapping, Kaizen & OpEx toolkit.
• Demonstrated success in leadership, effective communication, problem solving, and teamwork at Site Leadership team level is critical for this position.
• Excellent written and oral presentation skill, detail-oriented organizational skill, clear understanding of process control strategy and data management are also required for this position.

Experience

• Experience within Biopharma/pharma industry, drug substance manufacturing an advantage.
• Strong track record in successfully delivering Lean Six Sigma projects with quantified benefits is required.
• Prior Experience & proficiency in Project Management advantageous.
• Leading cross functional teams is a requirement.

Knowledge

• Demonstrated experience in Value Stream Mapping (VSM) projects, Kaizen & mentoring WBS project leaders.
• Strong working knowledge of coaching approaches used to build OpEx capability in leaders and teams.
• In-depth knowledge of Lean management systems, including Daily Management, Standard Work and Leader Standard Work, and how they are employed to embed standardised ways of working.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in a scientific or engineering discipline (Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing) or equivalent is preferred.
• Lean / Lean Six Sigma qualification required. (Green Belt or equiv. minimum, with Black belt or equiv. preferred).
• PMI Certification advantageous.
• Good decision making with strong judgment through collaboration and consideration of others point-of-view.
• Self-motivated, flexible and creative leader, able to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced & demanding environment.
• Excellent business analysis and problem-solving skills with broad business knowledge essential.
