Job summary

Eurofins Biopharma Product Testing Ireland in Dungarvan, Co Waterford, is seeking an Associate Scientist to join the Process Control Water Microbiology team. You will carry out scientific test procedures on customer samples and deliver accurate results within agreed timelines using strict GMP and SOPs.

The role offers the chance to contribute to quality, participate in root cause analyses, and support continuous improvement while working closely with colleagues in a busy laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Prior GMP experience preferred.
• A degree or diploma in a Scientific discipline.
• Water testing & EM techniques.
• Good team player, organised, accurate, strong documentation skills.
• Passionate about quality and customer service.
• Good communication skills both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scientific test procedures on customers' samples and produce accurate results within an acceptable time frame.
• Perform routine and non-routine analysis with accuracy and efficiency.
• Complete test records on time, ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards.
• Identify opportunities for quality and service improvement; contribute to continuous improvement projects.
• Adhere to GMP guidelines and internal quality standards; ensure all activities are documented and traceable.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis and prepare exception reports.
• Gain proficiency in assigned tests/areas of testing; maintain training records.
• Provide training to colleagues in techniques/tests where competency is proven.
• Provide cover for colleagues as required.
• Participate in weekend rota, overtime, and On-Call/Call-out schedules.
• Ensure customer requirements are met; demonstrate flexibility to work across business areas.
