Job summary

Eurofins Biopharma Product Testing in Waterford invites an Associate Scientist to join the Process Control Water Microbiology team in Dungarvan. The role focuses on carrying out scientific test procedures on customer samples and delivering accurate results within timelines using established procedures.

You will perform routine and non-routine analyses, maintain records, support continuous improvement, and ensure GMP compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine analyses with accuracy.
• Complete test records on time, ensuring SOP/regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities for quality and service improvements.
• Adhere to GMP guidelines and document all activities.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis and prepare exception reports.
• Gain proficiency in tests and maintain training records.
• Provide training to colleagues on tested techniques.
• Provide cover for colleagues as required.
• Participate in weekend rota, overtime, and On-Call schedules.
• Ensure customer requirements are met and be flexible across areas.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Associate Scientist to join our Process Control Water Microbiology team in Dungarvan Co Waterford.

The purpose of this job is to carry out scientific test procedures on customers’ samples and produce accurate results within an acceptable time frame using company procedures.

• Perform routine and non-routine analysis with accuracy and efficiency.
• Complete test records on time, ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards.
• Identify opportunities for quality and service improvement; contribute to continuous improvement projects.
• Adhere to GMP guidelines and internal quality standards; ensure all activities are documented and traceable.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis and prepare exception reports.
• Gain proficiency in assigned tests/areas of testing; maintain training records.
• Provide training to colleagues in techniques/tests where competency is proven.
• Provide cover for colleagues as required.
• Participate in weekend rota, overtime, and On-Call/Call-out schedules.
• Ensure customer requirements are met; demonstrate flexibility to work across business areas.

Experience / Skills

• Prior GMP experience preferred.
• A degree or diploma in a Scientific discipline
• Good team player, organised, accurate, have strong documentation skills

Please note: Weekend work is required, Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday to Thursday.
