Job summary

Arup is offering a Water Engineer Work Placement in Ireland for students pursuing civil, structural, chemical or environmental engineering. You will contribute to flood risk, network and treatment plant design and sustainable drainage projects as part of the water team.

We value collaboration, strong analytical skills and knowledge of hydrological principles, with hands-on experience using ArcGIS. This placement provides real project exposure and a pathway into a global engineering career at

The Opportunity

Our water team in Arup works on a wide range of projects in Ireland and internationally. Projects include flood relief schemes, network and treatment plant design and sustainable drainage design for a wide range of projects to support Arup in the delivery of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We have a wide breadth of skills and qualifications in our team and would be interested in hearing from candidates who are studying civil, structural, chemical, or environmental engineering or for environmental or science qualifications.

Is this role right for you?

We're Looking For Students Who Have

• A proven ability to work within a team environment, both internally among the greater Water team and externally within project teams and with stakeholders.
• Sound understanding of civil and structural components of flood risk, water or linear infrastructure.
• Knowledge of hydrological principles
• Strong relevant digital skills including ArcGIS
• Interest in water and wastewater treatment types
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and strong analytical skills
