Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate in Water to join our team. Based in hybrid locations across the UK and Ireland, you will support the Water group with design and analysis for potable, stormwater, and wastewater systems, gaining exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects.

You’ll work with experienced engineers to develop hydraulic, structural and environmental design skills, with professional development support and opportunities to progress towards ICE/CIWEM qualifications.

Qualifications

• BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering with 2:1 classification.
• MEng in Civil, Structural, or Water Engineering MSc (civils) would be an advantage.
• Enthusiastic, hardworking, technically proficient with ambition and drive.
• Basic computer skills (Word/Excel) and good report writing skills beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Undertake numerical analysis using computer-based programmes for potable, surface and wastewater systems.
• Undertake technical and feasibility studies for design alternatives across water systems.
• Perform structural analysis and design, including load cases and design situations.
• Produce water infrastructure designs (pumps, pipe networks) with safety in design considerations.
• Create and check sketches and final working drawings by Technicians.
• Keep up-to-date with regulatory legislation and guidelines affecting design work.
• Collaborate with team members on technical work, site work, and project management.
• Opportunity for site work and visits to understand implementation of designs.
