Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Water Scientist to join our Water Environment team across Ireland and the UK. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, deliver Water Environment Impact Assessments, and guide projects from feasibility to construction with high-quality outputs.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience undertaking Water Environment Impact and WFD/WER assessments.
• Experience across a range of infrastructure types and planning regimes (Ireland focus; UK beneficial).
• Technical specialist in water science, water quality, hydrology or related field.
• Ability to write proposals and scope surveys, monitoring and assessments.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams of water scientists and hydrogeologists.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality bids and tenders for water science services across multiple sectors.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage resources, budgets and schedules.
• Plan and implement complex monitoring and field work (water quality, flow gauging, surveys).
• Deliver high-quality water science consultancy and advisory services.
• Develop robust solutions to complex water science issues.
• Engage with statutory stakeholders to define scopes and mitigation.
• Support production of Environmental Statements and related assessments.
• Author project deliverables to ensure high quality outputs.
