Job summary

Coffey is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator in Co. Galway. The role requires diligence, strong work ethic and the ability to work on your own initiative with good problem-solving skills.

You will manage processes, monitor equipment, and respond to plant failures rosters while maintaining health, safety and quality standards. A full, clean driver’s licence is essential, with opportunities for career development and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years experience in wastewater process operations is preferred.
• Flexibility to respond outside normal hours and on-site attendance as required.
• Self-motivated, able to work in a team and/or independently.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
• Excellent oral and written reporting skills.
• Good understanding of quality, environmental and safety management systems.
• Must possess a full clean driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage processes and equipment operation to ensure optimum plant performance and compliance with contracts.
• Carry out manual plant operational duties including bulk deliveries to and removals from the plant.
• Monitor plant equipment, alarms and instrumentation.
• Respond to plant failures outside normal hours as rostered, with remote troubleshooting when appropriate.
• Maintain treatment facility buildings and hard-standing areas.
• Adhere to Health & Safety, ethical and quality requirements.
