Job summary

John Stafford & Sons is an established wholesale supplier to the DIY, Hardware, Garden, Agri, Industrial and Hire sectors. A General Warehouse Operative is sought to ensure orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time, while stock is received, checked and stored correctly.

You will liaise with sales reps, colleagues and customers to resolve queries, keep the warehouse tidy and safe, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to getting orders right.
• Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Confidence using computers and learning warehouse systems.
• A flexible, practical approach and a willingness to help colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders with care and accuracy.
• Receiving and checking incoming goods, reporting discrepancies and storing stock correctly.
• Carrying out stock checks and helping maintain accurate stock records.
• Liaising with sales representatives, colleagues and customers to resolve queries and ensure orders run smoothly.
• Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy, organised and safe.
• Following all health and safety requirements and operational procedures.
• Suggesting practical improvements to warehouse processes and working methods.
• Assisting with other general warehouse duties as required.
