Job summary

Deutsche Post uses a warehouse operative role based at Cedar Dr, Dublin. The position involves handling warehouse duties, operating a forklift, and supporting loading/unloading of domestic and international freight.

You will maintain housekeeping, assist with inventories, and ensure compliance with safety and GDP standards as part of daily operations. The role reports to the National Handling and Transport Manager with a warehouse team lead dotted line.

Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience in a cross docking warehouse environment.
  • Fluent Counterbalance Forklift skills necessary.
  • External Counterbalance Forklift license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Takes part in all cleaning functions daily and signs off check sheet.
  • Maintains pro-active communication with peers and superiors and informs of discrepancies or non-performance.
  • Label Import / Export freight as required.
  • Load & Offload domestic and international vehicles, mark manifests and notify discrepancies and damages.
  • Complete any warehouse related documentations for operations.
  • Ensures good housekeeping and daily bin emptying.
  • Co-ordinates loading of Road export vehicles for Saturdays and completes weekly inventories.
  • Ordering, stock control and maintenance of warehouse supplies/equipment.
  • Monitors day to day H&S in the warehouse and highlights concerns.
  • Facilitates customer and quality audits.
  • Controls DGF bonded warehouse.
  • Works with Yardman to manage trailer capacity and lane control.
  • Ensure manifests and trailer check sheets are printed and discrepancies signed.
  • Ensure papers and manifests are sent to operations ASAP.
  • Adhere to PPE policy and health & safety guidelines.
  • Comply with GDP requirements for Life Science where applicable.

Days & Hours of Work: Monday – Thursday 2.00pm-9.00pm Friday 2,00pm-2.00am Rest Days Saturday and Sunday

Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Takes part in all cleaning functions daily and signs off check sheet
  • Maintains pro-active communication/relationship with peers/superiors and especially informs superior immediately of discrepancies, problems or non-performance or non observance
  • Label Import / Export freight as required.
  • Load & Offload domestic and international vehicles, mark manifests and notify discrepancies and damages
  • Complete any warehouse related documentations for operations
  • Ensures good housekeeping, bins to be emptied daily.
  • Co-ordinates loading of Road export vehicles for Saturdays, and completes final weekly inventories.
  • Ordering, stock control and maintenance of warehouse supplies/ equipment.
  • Monitors day to day H&S in the warehouse and highlight areas of concern.
  • Facilitates customer & quality audits.
  • Controls DGF bonded warehouse
  • Works closely with the Yardman to manage trailer capacity and lane control.
  • Ensure all import/ export manifests and trailer check sheets are printed off for each load.
  • When trailers are loaded/ offloaded make sure that both manifest sheets are marked with any discrepancies and signed by the person that offloaded the trailer.
  • Ensure all papers and manifests are sent to the operations team ASAP.
  • Ensure that all health and safety guidelines and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure compliance with PPE policy.
  • Ensure operational compliance to all revenue and international trade legislative requirements, and all requirements under Data Protection Legislation in addition to all DGF IE policies and procedures (H&S, Quality, Environmental, HR, etc), and work in a manner that supports the Company environment programme
  • Participate in the implementation of operational processes and perform work to the standards of Good Distribution practice (GDP) for Life Science business, as required.
