Job summary

Charles Hughes Ltd (Portwest Ireland) in Ballina, Co. Mayo, is seeking a Warehouse General Operative to join our busy distribution team. You will be responsible for picking, packing, and despatching customer orders, maintaining stock accuracy, and using computer systems to support warehousing tasks.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with overtime opportunities. A positive, energetic approach and the ability to work on your own or as part of a team are essential; a driving licence and Safe

• Leaving Certificate is required.
• Forklift licence and Safe Pass are preferred.
• Full driving licence preferred.
• Ability to work in a very busy warehouse.
• Proactive and organised worker.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack and despatch customer orders.
• Carry out stock checks and maintain stock records.
• Use computer software as required for warehousing tasks.
• Handle email and phone correspondence related to orders.
• Maintain high health and safety standards.
• Perform other general warehouse duties as needed.

Job description

Charles Hughes Ltd (Portwest Ireland), busy distributor of workwear, safety footwear and PPE is seeking applications for the position of Warehouse General Operative based at our warehouse in Ballina, Co. Mayo (formerly Westaro Hosing). This is a very busy warehouse and the right candidate will have a positive outlook and be energetic. Portwest is one of the fastest growing workwear companies in the world, currently employing over 5,300 staff worldwide.

Main Responsibilities:

• Pick, pack & despatch customer orders
• Carry out stock checks
• Use computer software as required
• Email and phone correspondence
• Maintain a high level of health and safety standards
• Perform other general warehouse duties as needed

The successful candidate should be:

• A self-starter with high levels of energy as this is a very busy warehouse.
• Able to follow instructions and will be methodical and organised.
• Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Ideally will have a full drivers licence
• Ideally will have up to date Safe Pass certificate.
• Forklift licence beneficial but not essential for this role.

Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday with very limited weekend work required.

Supplemental pay types: Overtime pay when overtime is required.
