This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on leader with a strong background in warehouse and distribution management who is passionate about driving operational excellence, developing high‑performing teams, and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

The Role

As Warehouse Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day‑to‑day operation of the warehouse, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost‑effective receipt, storage, picking, and dispatch of goods. You will lead a dedicated warehouse team, optimise operational performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily warehouse operation, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, and dispatched accurately and on time.
  • Manage, motivate, and develop warehouse supervisors, team leaders, and operatives through effective coaching, training, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Champion a positive health and safety culture, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, conducting risk assessments, and delivering toolbox talks.
  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through regular stock takes, cycle counts, and investigation of discrepancies.
  • Plan warehouse resources effectively, including labour, equipment, and warehouse space, to meet operational demands.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, service, accuracy, and cost performance.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.
  • Ensure all warehouse equipment, including forklifts and reach trucks, is maintained and operated safely.
  • Build strong working relationships with transport providers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operational delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, licensing, and audit requirements.
  • Manage warehouse budgets, controlling operational costs while maintaining service standards.
  • Resolve escalated operational issues, customer concerns, and employee relations matters where required.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in a Warehouse Manager or Distribution Manager position within a fast‑paced logistics or warehousing environment.
  • A strong track record of leading, developing, and motivating operational teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and health and safety legislation.
  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing operational budgets and performance metrics.
