McDermott’s Furniture in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, is hiring a Warehouse Assistant on a full‑time basis. You will receive deliveries, maintain stock, pick customer orders for delivery, and help load vehicles.

The role requires a full clean driving licence, good English, physical fitness and reliability; prior warehouse experience is welcome but not essential. You’ll work as part of a small team in a busy showroom-support warehouse.

Qualifications

• Strong references from previous employers are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with receipt and checking of incoming deliveries.
• Organise and maintain stock in a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse.
• Pick and prepare customer orders for delivery.
• Assist with loading delivery vehicles and ensure goods are protected in transit.
• Support the returns process, including inspecting and processing damaged/returned items.
• Assist with deliveries and assemblies at customer homes as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.

Warehouse Assistant – Full Time – Castlebar

An exciting opportunity has arisen at McDermott’s Furniture as we continue to grow and bring our style to homes across Ireland.

From our Mayo roots, we have been proudly serving customers from our Castlebar showroom for over 60 years — a journey that recently led to the opening of our brand new second showroom in Ennis, Co. Clare. We now deliver to homes across all 32 counties on the island of Ireland.

We are now seeking a reliable and hard-working Warehouse Assistant to join our team at our Castlebar warehouse. Working alongside our Warehouse Manager, this is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work, looks after stock with care, and is happy to get stuck in as part of a small, close-knit team.

About the role

• Assisting with the receipt and checking of incoming deliveries from suppliers
• Organising and maintaining stock in a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse
• Picking and preparing customer orders accurately ahead of delivery
• Assisting with loading delivery vehicles and ensuring goods are properly protected in transit
• Supporting the returns process, including inspecting and processing damaged or returned items
• Assisting with deliveries and assemblies at customer homes as required
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times
