Qualifications

• Third Level Qualification in Business, Accounting, Finance or Engineering.

SMBC Aviation Capital larger scale and order book commitments have resulted in a significant increase in its funding requirements. Sourcing this financing at competitive pricing levels as well asensuring that SMBC Aviation Capital has the flexibility to access multiple and diverse funding channelsin all market conditions is a key strategic focus.

The Funding function of the Corporate Finance team is responsible for the raising of SMBC AviationCapital’s third-party financing, managing our relationships with banks and bond investors as well aseffectively communicating the SMBC Aviation Capital credit story to the market.

Core Responsibilities

Originating and executing optimised financing solutions for the business:

Working with investment banks on the structuring of capital market transactions (corporate bonds, private placements, ABS etc)

Working with banks on Syndication/bilateral term loans, RCFs and secured debt transactions

Managing the business’ relationships with financiers in both the bank and capital markets.

Work closely with our Executive Management/Leadership team and shareholders to ensure consistent and efficient communication on funding transactions is maintained

Use of experienced business acumen to understand and effectively negotiate funding transactions with legal counsels and 3rd party funding partners

Provide analysis of competitor funding products, investor marketing strategies and Investment Bank analyst coverage to ensure the business has an in-depth understand of aircraft leasing landscape facilitating effective formulation of SMBC Aviation Capital credit story and funding product diversification

Significant travel required to maintain relationships in the banking and capital markets attending conferences, arranging bank events and facilitation of roadshows

Qualifications and Experience

Third Level Qualification, preferably within Business, Accounting, Finance or Engineering

At least 5-10 years’ of meaningful experience (Corporate Finance/Leasing)

Experience in the financial mechanics of funding products and documentation

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with a proven ability to debate and influence others effectively

Results focused with an ability and flexibility to work to deadlines

Willingness to travel, sometimes at very short notice
