Ark Vets Galway is seeking a friendly and proactive receptionist to join our team. You will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, handling appointments, calls, and payments in a busy, supportive practice.
We value excellent people skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided, with a focus on outstanding client care and team collaboration.
If you love working with people, enjoy a busy and varied day, and want to be part of a genuinely supportive team, this could be the perfect role for you. At Ark Vets Knocknacarra, our reception team plays a central role in everything we do.
As the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, you'll help create a warm, welcoming and reassuring experience from the moment they walk through the door. This is more than just a front desk role – it's an opportunity to be part of a well-respected, forward-thinking practice where client care and teamwork go hand in hand.
This is a full-time position with a consistent and predictable schedule, typically working Monday to Friday with 1 in 3–4 Saturdays per month. Shifts are between 9:00am and 6:30pm, with Saturdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
There are no Sundays, no bank holidays and no out-of-hours requirements, giving you a great work-life balance and the ability to properly switch off outside of work.
Your day will be fast-paced and varied, combining client interaction with the administrative support that keeps the practice running smoothly. You'll welcome clients and their pets, manage appointments, answer calls and respond to enquiries.
You'll also process payments, maintain a professional and organised reception area, and build your knowledge of our services and products so you can confidently support and guide clients. It's a role where you'll quickly become a familiar face to our regular clients and an important part of their experience with the practice.
While previous reception or veterinary experience is an advantage, it isn't essential. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, enthusiasm and excellent people skills – full training will be provided for the right person.
You'll be joining a well-established and collaborative team of vets, nurses and support staff who genuinely enjoy working together. With excellent facilities and a mix of first opinion and referral work, Ark Vets offers a professional yet friendly environment where everyone plays an important role.
Our Knocknacarra practice is equipped with advanced technology including CT, ultrasound, digital radiography and modern surgical facilities, giving you the opportunity to work in a high-quality clinical setting while enjoying the feel of a close-knit community practice.
We're committed to supporting our people through career development opportunities, wellbeing initiatives and access to world-class learning resources.
Whether you're just starting out or looking to take the next step in your career, inspiring vet care offers the support, opportunity and community to help you grow.
If you're looking for a role where you can make a real difference every day, be part of a supportive team and build a rewarding career, Ark Vets Galway could be exactly what you're looking for.
