Job summary

SGS Ireland is hiring a part-time Verification Officer in Galway to process driving licence applications, verify identities, and handle payments for the NDLS service on behalf of the Road Safety Authority. The role requires strong customer service, vigilance with documents, and adherence to NDLS rules.

You will train as needed and travel to NDLS centres as required. The position includes Saturdays on a rotating roster and a focus on accuracy, integrity, and compliance with SGS policies and

Qualifications

  • Leaving Certificate and/or FETAC 5 skills certificate or greater.
  • Fluency in written and oral English – excellent documentation skills required.
  • Dynamic, confident, and motivated with a proven track record within service delivery.
  • Use of a Car & a Full Clean Driving Licence an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills vital for this role.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are critical; proactive and well-organised.
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Initiative and strong problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with SGS colleagues and external clients.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Process driving licence applications within defined timeframes with the highest standards of customer service, including compliance to Identity Validation and NDLS rules.
  • Process applications within a defined timeframe ensuring the highest standards of customer service.
  • Ensure due diligence on all documents and image/signature captures uploaded to the NDLS Front Office Solution.
  • Comply with Front Office Solution usage and Dual Screen Technology.
  • Complete on-site and virtual training and maintain training records.
  • Ensure all mandatory courses are completed timely as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply with Company Code of Integrity and Equality & Diversity policy.
  • Understand SOPs and procedures during the life cycle of the role.
  • Report serious discrepancies or data breaches to the Regional Supervisor and Security heads.
  • Comply with Mobile Phone Policy and Uniform Policy.
  • Flexibility to travel to cover NDLS Centres; work Saturdays as part of roster.
  • Maintain safe and professional behaviour per health and safety policies.

SGS Ireland is seeking to recruit a part-time Verification Officer for GalwayNDLS.

This role would require the successful candidate to be responsible for processing driving licence applications, including customer registration, verification, authentication, and payment processing activities. The network of NDLS Centres is responsible for processing driver licence applications in 34 NDLS Centres across Ireland on behalf of our Client the Road Safety Authority.

Job Description

Reporting to the Regional Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Process driving licence applications within a defined timeframe and ensuring that the highest standards of customer services are achievedincluding compliance to Identity Validation, Document Validation and NDLSFO Business Rules.
  • To process applications within a defined timeframe ensuring the highest standards of customer service are achieved.
  • Ensure the utmost due diligence is applied to all documents and image / signature captures uploaded to the NDLS Front Office Solution
  • Ensure compliance withutilisation of the Front Office Solution and Dual Screen Technology
  • Complete on-site and virtual training as required and ensure appropriate training records are completed and returned as directed by your supervisor. All training courses for completion must be done so in a timely manner. This will include regular training sign off sheets being issued from NDLSFO Helpdesk.
  • Ensure that all mandatory courses are completed in a timely manner as defined by your supervisor
  • Ensure full compliance with the Company’s Code of Integrity & Professional Conduct, and at all times adopt behaviour in accordance with SGS Equality & Diversity policy
  • Ensure a full understanding of SOP’s and procedures manual along with any additional support material issued during the life cycle of the Verification Officer role.
  • Ensure any serious discrepancies, security breaches or any breaches to data is reported immediately to the Regional Supervisor, NDLSFO Helpdesk, Operations Manager and Head of Security.
  • Comply with the Company Code of Integrity Policy
  • Comply with Mobile Phone Policy & Comply with Uniform Policy
  • Flexibility to travel to cover in NDLS Centres other than your base location
  • Commitment to working Saturdays as part of a fair roster rotation of same
  • At all times adopt a safe and professional behaviour by exercising due regard for the health and safety of yourself, colleagues and members of the public, in line with the Company’s policies and procedures

Qualifications

Leaving Certificate and/or FETAC 5 skills certificate or greater

The ideal candidate should possess the following attributes/skillsets:

  • Dynamic, confident, and motivated individual with a proven track record within the Service Delivery Sector
  • Strong customer service focus and experience
  • Fluency in both written and oral English – excellent documentation skills required
  • Use of a Car & a Full Clean Driving Licence an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills vital for this role
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is critical. Successful candidate should be pro-active, have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under own initiative without regular supervision or as part of a team
  • Initiative and excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective interpersonal skills – able to develop positive working relationships with people at all levels, with SGS colleagues and external clients/customers
  • Excellent PC Proficiency and knowledge of MS Office application
