Job summary

Baker Finn Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Utilities Engineer to support the design, installation, commissioning and qualification of manufacturing utility systems in a Cork-based facility.

The role requires experience in utilities engineering within manufacturing and a strong grasp of regulatory requirements; knowledge of wastewater, HVAC, steam, compressed air and other plant utilities is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification in mechanical, chemical, electrical, or related field.
• Experience in utilities engineering within manufacturing.
• Experience in GMP/pharma/food/medical device or regulated industries is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of utility systems and engineering principles.

We are seeking a Utilities Engineer to support the delivery of utility systems within a manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer to work across the design, installation, commissioning and qualification of utility systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of manufacturing utility systems.
• Provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support equipment selection, sizing and implementation.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and qualification activities.
• Work closely with engineering, construction, quality and operations teams.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers and external engineering partners.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide practical solutions.
• Ensure work meets relevant engineering, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation and project records.

Requirements

• Engineering qualification, ideally Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or related.
• Experience in utilities engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in GMP, pharmaceutical, food, medical device or other regulated industries is desirable.
• Strong understanding of utility systems and engineering principles.
• Experience with commissioning/CQV is highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of SOPs and procedural compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• A practical, hands-on approach with strong technical ability.

Experience with wastewater treatment, HVAC, steam, compressed air, chilled water, process water or other plant utilities would be beneficial.
