Qualifications

  • Degree, diploma, trade qualification, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in project turnover, system completions, commissioning support, or handover activities within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of Fire Protection systems and testing, inspection, and certification requirements.
  • Experience reviewing and managing turnover documentation, test packs, and quality records.
  • Knowledge of punch list management and system completion processes.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and project teams to meet handover milestones.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the turnover process for Fire Protection projects, ensuring all construction activities and documentation are completed and transferred to the project owner or operator.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of Fire Protection system deliverables, boundaries, and turnover requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, including clients, Construction Management Teams, contractors, subcontractors, and commissioning teams to ensure turnover requirements are achieved.
  • Support turnover meetings and provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders.
  • Review, update, and communicate the status of allocated systems with the Construction Management Team.
  • Carry out early system walkdowns to assess construction progress, quality standards, and turnover readiness.
  • Coordinate with contractors to confirm readiness of construction works, documentation, and testing activities.
  • Conduct walkdown inspections with contractors, commissioning teams, and end users to verify system completion and readiness for handover.
  • Ensure punch list items are identified, tracked, reported, and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Oversee final inspections and testing activities to verify system functionality and compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Collate, review, and verify all turnover documentation, including test packs, drawings, certifications, compliance records, and handover documentation.
  • Compile turnover packs and coordinate sign-off and formal handover to the commissioning team.
  • Ensure all turnover documentation is archived and retained in accordance with project and company requirements.
  • Identify, manage, and resolve turnover-related issues and discrepancies.
  • Escalate quality, documentation, or turnover concerns to the Contracts Manager and Quality Team as required.

Scope Of The Role

The Turnover Lead is responsible for ensuring the clear understanding, tracking, and successful delivery of Fire Protection systems throughout the project lifecycle. The role supports project turnover and handover activities, ensuring all systems, documentation, inspections, testing, and certification requirements are completed and transferred to the client or commissioning team in accordance with project quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role

  • Understanding of relevant Fire Protection codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced international project environment.
