Job summary

Eden Social Care is seeking a dedicated Social Care Worker to support children in residential services. You will build positive relationships, provide trauma-informed care and assist with education, daily activities and safeguarding.

You’ll work with families and professionals to create a stable home environment and develop independence in young people. The role offers a full-time, permanent position with shift work, competitive pay, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care, attachment and child development.
• Ability to manage sensitive information and complete accurate daily records.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Provide child-centred and trauma-informed care.
• Support young people with emotional, behavioural and developmental needs.
• Help young people develop independence and life skills.
• Support education, homework and daily activities.
• Follow individual Care, Placement and Crisis Management Plans.
• Promote a safe, stable and nurturing home environment.
• Work with colleagues, families and professionals.
• Complete daily records and reports.
• Participate in team meetings, training and development.
• Support the smooth running of the house and contribute to a warm, homely environment.
• Take on shift-leading duties as experience develops.
