Job summary

Eden Social Care is recruiting Residential Child Care Workers to join a therapeutic home for young people aged 6-12 in Carlow. The role focuses on safe, consistent relationships and a high-quality service with strong governance and staff wellbeing.

You will provide day-to-day care and therapeutic support, implement child-centred plans and maintain records. A Level 7 Social Care qualification with post-qualification experience is required. Travel and varied shifts may be involved.

Responsibilities

Eden Social Care is a children's residential provider opening a therapeutic home for young people aged 6-12 in Carlow. From the outset, this service has been designed with one guiding principle: safe, consistent relationships are the foundation of effective care, for young people and for staff. We are currently recruiting Social Care Workers who want to be part of building a high-quality service, with strong governance, reflective practice, and staff wellbeing embedded into daily operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide day-to-day care and therapeutic support to children and young people in residential care.
  
• Deliver child-centred, trauma-informed care.
  
• Support individual care plans and promote children's education, wellbeing and life skills.
  
• Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  
• Work a rota that may include evenings, weekends, sleepovers and waking night shifts.
  
• Carry out other reasonable duties associated with the role.
  

Requirements

• Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a related discipline (or another qualification recognized as suitable for the role).
  
• Relevant post-qualification experience working with children and young people in a social care or residential setting.
  
• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs.
  
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
