Job summary

We are seeking a Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Engineer to join a growing, industry‑leading team. You will be involved in all stages of grid modernisation—from initial concept and planning, through High‑Voltage Power Systems analysis, cabling, substations, transmission and distribution infrastructure, system balancing and compensation, protection systems, SCADA, communications, converter station design, HVDC systems and interconnectors—including overseas links. Projects include the UK’s National Grid Great Grid Program, upgrades to integrate renewable energy sources and support net‑zero targets.

Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Engineering Team

As part of our Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Engineering team, you will:

• Design and deliver low‑carbon energy solutions that support the transition to clean energy.
• Support network development to underpin grid modernisation, including new overhead lines, underground cables, substations, battery storage and subsea links.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, stakeholders and internal teams to deliver projects on time and to specification.

Qualifications

• An electrical/electronic/power engineering qualification – HNC, HND, BSc/BEng and/or MSc/MEng.
• Demonstrable electrical engineering design consultancy experience working on transmission and distribution projects.
• Working knowledge of BS and/or Eurocodes for relevant engineering design standards.
• Excellent communication skills, able to engage with clients, colleagues and stakeholders and explain technical issues clearly.
