Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland is seeking a Director to lead the Corporate Tax & Transactions Advisory practice in Dublin. You will oversee high-impact engagements, shape strategy, and partner with our Corporate Finance team to deliver integrated deal advice for Irish and international clients.

You will build and mentor a high-performing tax team, win new work, and drive growth across the deal lifecycle. A strong commercial mindset and senior stakeholder engagement are essential.

Qualifications

• CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualification.
• Significant post-qualification experience in corporate tax.
• Experience in buy-side/sell-side tax due diligence and M&A tax advisory.
• Commercial mindset translating tax into practical advice.
• Proven track record leading teams and developing people.
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-profile transaction tax engagements across due diligence, M&A structuring and wider tax projects.
• Collaborate with Grant Thornton’s Corporate Finance team to embed tax in deal planning.
• Advise clients on complex tax issues with strong commercial awareness.
• Develop client relationships and identify opportunities to win new work.
• Coach and develop a tax team and work cross-functionally across the firm.
