Job summary

Bidvest Noonan is seeking a Training Manager to oversee cleaning operations within a large acute hospital environment. You will ensure IPC compliance, HIQA/HSE standards, and drive audits and continuous improvement while leading cleaning teams.

You will develop staff, manage training records, and support budgets. The role requires strong communication and organisational skills, with fluency in English and valid work authorisation in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage infection prevention and control (IPC) procedures.
• Experience in healthcare or acute hospital environment.
• Experience conducting audits and quality inspections.
• Delivery of IPC training and competency assessments.
• Experience in Facilities Management, Cleaning Operations, or similar environments.

About the Role

Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality cleaning services within a large acute hospital environment, ensuring compliance with healthcare, quality, and infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities of the Training Manager:

• Support the Contract Manager in the day-to-day management of cleaning operations.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, IPC, environmental, and audit requirements.
• Manage cleaning schedules, standards, and service delivery in line with SLAs.
• Build strong client relationships and attend regular client meetings.
• Lead quality inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Recruit, train, and manage cleaning teams and supervisors.
• Maintain training records and deliver ongoing staff development.
• Support budget management, including labour, equipment, and consumables.
• Manage timesheets, annual leave, and employee-related matters.

Key Requirements of the Training Manager:

• Ensure adherence to Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) procedures.
• Support cleaning services across high-risk areas including wards, theatres, ICU, and Emergency Departments.
• Work closely with clinical and infection control teams.
• Ensure compliance with HIQA, HSE, and healthcare standards.
• Lead deep cleaning programmes, outbreak responses, and healthcare audits.
• Deliver IPC training and competency assessments.
• Experience in Facilities Management, Cleaning Operations, or a similar environment.
• Previous people management experience.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Fluent English.
• Valid permission to work full-time in Ireland.
• Experience within a healthcare or acute hospital environment.
• Knowledge of Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) practices.
• Experience conducting audits and quality inspections.
• BICS qualification or equivalent.
